Jaquet Droz’s “Sports Watch” is a high-end, heavy-duty chrono

Watchmaker Jaquet Droz makes luxury watches more expensive than some San Francisco apartments. Now, however, they have decided to move to the lower category with their Sports Watch chronograph, a hand-made watch designed for work and play.

The watch is a standard chronograph with large date, a complication that displays the date as two digits instead of a rotary dial. The resulting piece looks like a high fashion Speedmaster and is expected to cost about $ 15,000, which is acceptable for a Manufacture watch from Droz, as other Droz watches can reach $ 100,000, a price that may seem less attractive for an illiquid entrepreneur.

More since the liberation:

True to the watchmaking tradition, the indexes are applied in 18-carat white gold. The large Roman numerals indicate 3, 6, 9 and 12 hours. At 12 o'clock, Jaquet Droz proposes a big date, a traditional complication of Haute Horlogerie but rarely associated with a chronograph. Although more complex to produce than a simple date opening, the big date offers superior readability. Once again, to offer optimal legibility, the latest versions of the SW Chrono feature a 45 mm dial and a track covering the movement in keeping with the watchmaking tradition.

The bracelet is made of "dark blue fabric with rolled edges", a unique addition to the world of luxury watches that used to date rubber or metal for groups. It resists water up to 50 meters, if you think you're going to get wet with this wrist, and it should be on sale by the end of the year.
